If you’re wanting to start doing stomach exercises at home to help strengthen your core, then you’ll want to follow this article & video. We’ll show you a series of great exercises you can do at home to help strength your core and tone your stomach. Be warned though. Getting a flat tummy, or 6 pac abs does not happen over night. Simply doing stomach exercises at home for women, or for men, will not give you a flat stomach, and will not give you a 6 pac at home.

You can find out how to get a 6 pac here on shreddybrek. It takes time, a low body fat level, and a solid, good diet in order to get 6 pac abs to show through. Now we have cleared that up, lets take a look at some of the best stomach exercises to do at home. The follow ab workout can be performed by anyone as these stomach exercises for women or men can also be carried out by teenagers working out from home.

We’ll be doing a circuit of ab exercises in this workout, with no rest between each stomach exercise. After each circuit of exercises has been completed, you will rest for 60 seconds, then start again. You will complete this ab circuit 4 times.

Crunch
The first stomach exercise in this home workout circuit is the crunch. Slightly different to perhaps the more common sit up, a crunch requires you to lay down on your back bend your knee’s so they are pointing towards the air, and have your feet flat. Place your hands on the side of your head. Keeping your lower back on the floor, crunch your body up so your hands slightly touch your knees or thighs. You should feel your stomach tighten when performing this exercise. It is important to perform this, and each exercise in this ab workout slowly, so that you are working the abs effectively.

Leg Raise
The leg raise is a great stomach exercise for targeting the lower abs. Lay with your back touching the floor, arms by your side and raise your legs in the air. Lift with your lower abs, don’t swing the legs up. If the exercise feels too easy, you are just swinging your legs. Ensure that your lower abs are working, perform the exercise slowly, putting the workload on your lower stomach.

Oblique Crunch
A similar set up to the crunch, however you will crunching on your side, targeting the oblique. It’s a hard one to explain, so ill allow the home ab workout video to do the explaining.

Remember to complete each exercise without rest, and then when you have completed each exercise, rest for 60 seconds before starting again. Do this for a total of 4 times. I like to start this circuit off with a rep range of between 15-20, however after a few sets ill find myself tiring. When I can no longer hit the desired rep range, I will complete each exercise until failure.

This simple series of stomach exercises are great to do at home, especially when combined with a solid cardio regime and great fat loss diet.

Remember doing this workout will not give you abs. What this workout will do however, is help develop your abs, so that when you’re body fat is low enough (achieved through diet and cardio) you will have a killer 6 pac. It takes hard work, as does everything in life worth having.
