The Grand Theft Auto V Online trailer has debuted just minutes ago, and it features the following:
Customisable characters, hair clothing etc.
Player Housing
Purchase Garages
Storylines
Ability to earn money
Persistent Online Progression
Campaign Missions
Heists
Traditional multiplayer options such as deathmatch
Races
Activities – golf, sky diving etc

Wow, and im sure im missing some more stuff here.
Really though, the trailer looked awesome. Pretty much everything you can do in the single player game, you can also do in the multiplayer. The big surprise in the GTA V Online Reveal Trailer was the content creation tools. Players are going to be able to create races on the map, by highlighting way points in a map editor styled interface, and then engage in these races with friends. Along with the race creator, there will also be a deathmatch creator. From the trailer, we saw the ability to place weapons and move around architecture. The premise sounds similar to Halo’s Forge mode, where you cant change the landscape, but can add objects to create customised area’s within an area or on the existing landscape. Weapons, ammo, and other such objects will also be able to be moved and placed around the map. No other modes were announced, but it is likely there will be a whole host of death match and race game types for players to.
What will be the big hook for players in GTA V Online however, is the free roam or what looks like an online campaign. With an online progression that unlocks new npc’s to get missions from, it looks like that GTA V Multiplayer will host a comprehensive online campaign experience. Honestly, the value that Rockstar is dishing out with this game is off the charts. This online mode could be packaged up as a game itself.
So what the GTA V online element boils down to is, all the features of GTA V single player, sharable with friends over xbox live or PSN. The only difference being is the story offered, and the characters you will control.
