Open Mr & Miss British Isle Bodybuilding Show | Placing 3rd With Shreddybrek

The Open Mr & Miss British Isle Bodybuilding Competition took place this past weekend, and your’s truly competed in the Novice Class. The show was hosted by 5 x Mr Universe Eddy Ellwood, and featured 28 competitors in both the male and female classes.

I was competing in the Novice class. Below is footage from the show, including my night show posing routine and the announcement of places.

The bodybuilding show, much like the NABBA North Britian that I also competed at in May of this year was divided into 2 shows. Pre judging on the afternoon, and the night show….in the night time (technically evening!)

Unlike the NABBA North Britiain, I didn’t come up with a routine for this show. I don’t know why, but I just didn’t. Up until the Friday prior to the show I was all set to pose to a different song. Then the long leg of the Hulk Hogan dropped in my mind, and I decided to do my flexing routine to Hulk Hogan’s classic “I am a real American” theme tune. This was a bit of a cop out for me, as in my mind I just imagined doing the over-exaggerated poses that the Hulkster is so famous for. This Hulk Hogan Bodybuilding Posing Routine looked a lot better in my mind than what it did on the afternoon prejudging stage. I tried to tidy it up a little bit for the evening, but early into my bodybuilding career, I’ve learned something very important. If you don’t want to look like a tit on stage, plan your posing routine. I did it in May, and I’ll be doing it in November when I compete in the USN NABBA Novice Finals

Open Mr & Miss British Isle Placing

So how did I actually do? THIRD PLACE BABY! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Styling & profiling, clangin’ & bangin’ 24/7 shredding Shreddybrek son of a gun took 3rd!

Ok so my Ric Flair type-a-thon is over now. However with a 3rd place result I was buzzing guys. Seriously. Some of you may be looking at this thinking “wow 3rd….so what”. What you don’t realise however, is i expected to get no where in the bodybuilding show.

My reasoning for competing in the Open Mr & Miss British Isle was to get me in better condition, and to give me more experience of dieting for a show, and to experiment with “peak week”. So considering I wasn’t expecting to do anything, and that I managed to took 3rd, it was a winning night for me! 3rd is no 1st, granted, however it has given me some strong motivation, as I can start to see results and progress of the work im putting in at the gym.

Next up for me is the USN Novice Finals on November 17th, and then following that the NABBA North Britain in May 2014. Make sure to subscribe to my youtube channel, along with subscribing to stay up to date & be notified of new articles & videos. Until next time guys, keep clangin’ & bangin!
